Mike and my Dad have been working on running all new copper water lines and rebracing the floor in our 2nd floor bathroom. Here's some of their handiwork:
At one point, they pulled some nails out of one of the floor joists (which had been cut and was just resting on top of the kitchen's drop ceiling. Turns out those nails were in turn holding up the drop ceiling. Some emergency bracing was in order:
Once they had the ceiling propped up, they tied the drop ceiling framing to the studs upstairs. This is a temporary fix for us. If we were the previous owners of the house, we'd probably call it a job well done.
